Bands and Groups
The Pride of the West is a multi-faceted, award winning group of young musicians. We invite you to dig in and meet the bands under the direction of Director of Bands, Josh Tyree and Assistant Band Directors, John Herndon and Al Estep.
Marching Band
Traditional marching band season starts in late-July and finishes around November. The Pride of the West is an award-winning competitive marching band here in North Georgia.
Symphonic Band
A great way for students to learn more about what it takes to be in a performance concert-style environment. Students perform a variety of compositions at different venues.
Wind Symphony
The wind symphony is the next level of concert performance band that takes on more challenging musical scores in a variety of performance venues.
Wind Ensemble
The highest-level performing ensemble at West Forsyth High School. These students routinely perform college-level scores and beyond at venues around the region.
Jazz Band I
A collection of student musicians committed to creating fun but challenging jazz music together with live performances around the region.
Jazz Band II
A select group of students dedicated to the study and performance of jazz in various concerts, festivals, and community events .
Colorguard/Winterguard
This award-winning competitive performance group showcases superior talent and colorful choreography in both marching season and in indoor arena in the winter.
Indoor Drumline
The former GIPA champion indoor drumline at West combines a powerful mix of musicality, choreography and performance in a highly-competitive arena during the winter season.
