
Director of Jazz Studies ~ Pat Gallagher
Patrick J. Gallagher retired in 2016 after a 40-year career in instrumental and music education. He began his teaching career at Ashworth Middle School in Calhoun, Georgia in 1976. He has taught at Ashworth Middle School, Eastbrook Middle School, Forsyth County/Central High School, Pickens High School and most recently at West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia.
Concert and Marching Bands under his direction have received Grand Championships, Division Placements and numerous Superior Ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation
Mr. Gallagher has served as the GMEA High School All-State Band Chair, GMEA State Technology Chair, and GMEA 9th District Chair and 9th District Band Chair.
Mr. Gallagher received his BS in Music Education from Berry College, and his Master of Music degree from Georgia State University and Post Graduate study at the American Band College.
His professional memberships include the Georgia Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, National Band Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Music Fraternity, International Trumpet Guild, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity.
Mr. Gallagher has served as a concert and marching band adjudicator and consultant in Georgia and several other states. Mr. Gallagher has also been a performer with the Yonah Brass, Roman Festival Brass, Northwinds Community Band and the Georgia Wind Symphony.
Mr. Gallagher is an active volunteer member of Bugles Across America and performs live Taps to provide a valuable service to Veterans and their families.
Mr. Gallagher is currently a sales associate with Student Group Tours, Inc.
