Assistant Director of Bands ~ Jeff Keegan
Jeffrey S. Keegan is the Assistant Director of Bands and Director of Percussion and Music Technology at West Forsyth High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Georgia State University and a Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of North Georgia. His first eight years of teaching were at Richards M.S in Gwinnett County. Following that he was the Associate Director of Bands and Director of Percussion at North Forsyth High School. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Georgia and spent many years on their marching band staff. Mr. Keegan is an active performer, arranger, and clinician. He has performed with the North Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, South Wind Drum & Bugle Corps, Atlanta Rhythm Machine, Earthshaking Samba, Atlanta Pipe Band, and various church ensembles. Mr. Keegan enjoys biking, kayaking, camping, woodworking, and being a husband and father.
Announcement: Welcome John Herndon
We’re pleased to announce that for the 2019-20 school year, we have hired John Herndon to replace Mr. Keegan as assistant director of bands. Mr. Herndon comes to us from Milton High School in Milton, GA where he has been assistant director for several years. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in directing bands and leading percussion performance ensembles. We wish Mr. Keegan all the best in his new ventures and welcome Mr. Herndon to the Pride of the West. Full bio coming soon.
